Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of the Career Center, the Undergraduate Career Outcomes Specialist plays a critical role in capturing and analyzing post-graduation outcomes for Fordham University’s undergraduate students.
This position leads outreach to graduating students to collect data on their post-graduation plans and career outcomes, including employment, continuing education, internships, fellowships, and other activities. The position supports the University’s goal of providing accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date data that showcases the success of Fordham graduates across all academic disciplines. The data collected will be used to generate meaningful insights on industry trends, career paths, internships, and recent graduate outcomes.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, particularly during peak collection period.
Essential Functions
- Oversees the development, distribution, and collection of the First Destination Survey (FDS) to graduating students, ensuring high participation rates and accurate responses.
- Work closely with the Internship Program Coordinator, Data Specialist, and Student Engagement Strategist team to track internship, co-curricular, and research experiences by semester throughout the academic experience.
- Analyzes post-graduation outcomes data across all academic majors and departments, identifying trends, industry sectors, geographic locations, and career pathways.
- Prepares and delivers reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing the results of FDS, ensuring clear communication of outcomes to internal stakeholders, such as academic departments, university leadership, and prospective students.
- Provides actionable insights to the Career Center team to inform future programming and services for students, alumni, and employers.
- Works closely with academic departments, faculty, and administrators to gather data on student outcomes and ensure the survey is relevant to each discipline.
- Collaborates with the international students office, alumni relations, and institutional researchers to cross-reference data as needed.
- Collects and analyzes industry-specific trends and data to identify patterns in employment, internships, graduate school acceptance, and other post-graduation activities.

Management Responsibilities
Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.
Additional Functions
- Ensures timely and accurate data entry into the survey platform and maintains data integrity.
- Oversees weekly meetings with SES to meet weekly goals.
- Stays informed about best practices in career outcomes data collection and reporting, ensuring Fordham’s methods align with the newest technology.
- Designs and executes communication strategies to promote FDS, encouraging students to participate and provide accurate information about their post-graduation outcomes.
- Manages with the team the bi-monthly mailing (MailChimp, emails to students)
- Assists with department career-related activities and events for seniors/recent grads with the SES team.
- Ensures that all data collection, reporting, and analysis activities are conducted in compliance with university policies, FERPA regulations, and any applicable privacy laws.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree
- Minimum of 2 years experience in career services, data collection, survey management, or a related field, preferably within a higher education setting.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Strong proficiency with career management platforms (e.g. Handshake), data management tools, survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey), and reporting software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of FDS methodology and familiarity with national standards (e.g., NACE).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear, accessible format.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team of students.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to students on how to complete the survey and track their responses throughout data collection periods.
Minimum Starting Salary: $65,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
