Summary 

The Director of Dual Enrollment provides leadership and direction for the development, administration, quality, and effectiveness of the high school dual credit program and creates pathways to enrollment as full-time NFC students following high school graduation. The Director builds relationships with high schools (public, charter, and private) and home-schooled students across the North Florida College district to increase dual enrollment quality and effectiveness by assessing the needs of high school students and school districts, coordinating with NFC academic affairs to provide courses in response to those needs, implementing marketing and promotion strategies to ensure participation, providing admission and registration support services, and overseeing orientation and administrative support for students, parents, and faculty.  The Director of Dual Enrollment ensures that the dual enrollment program is administered in accord with standards established by North Florida College, the State of Florida and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges. The Director will create systems to track and document that dual enrollment guidelines are being met, program quality and student learning outcomes are upheld, and is responsive to changing technologies and advances in delivery. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Below are listed the primary tasks identified for this position.  The duties articulated, though not exhaustive, indicate the majority of the functions assigned to this position.  Other duties may be assigned based on institutional need. 

  • Coordinates with the Department of Academic Affairs all aspects of the Dual Enrollment program including working closely with area high school students, school district personnel and appropriate College personnel.
  • Facilitates the annual dual enrollment articulation and Collegiate Academy agreement and comprehensive articulation planning. 
  • Promotes a close relationship between College faculty and high school teachers including curricula articulation for a “seamless” transition from high school to college. 
  • Assists in coordinating college access and readiness initiatives between the College and school districts. 
  • Assists the Department of Academic Affairs in coordinating the evaluation of dual enrollment instruction and instructors. 
  • Promotes the growth, development, marketing, and administration of the dual enrollment program, including the development and dissemination of guidelines for instructors, schools, students, and academic departments, making presentations at schools, initiating formal agreements with schools, recommending policy and procedural changes, overseeing orientation activities for students and instructors, coordinating with academic departments at NFC, solving problems, and responding to constituencies in a timely manner.
  • Establishes dual enrollment goals and assessments that will guide and inform the program, uses data to track student enrollment patterns to identify trends and determine direction, and disseminates outcomes to various audiences as appropriate.
  • Assists with the advisement of dual enrolled students.
  • Works with the Department of Academic Affairs to develop growth plans for workforce related dual enrollment programs and experiences.
  • Assists the Department of Academic Affairs with the expansion of early college opportunities and programming in alignment with the College's mission and strategic plan. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

  • Master's degree in education or a related field is required. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful K-12 or higher education experience is required, that includes program development, project management, and teaching or administrative responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience required. 
  • Ability to deal tactfully and sensitively with students, faculty, staff, and to work independently, with attention to details and deadlines required.  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite applications preferred.
  • Experience in budget development and monitoring preferred.
