GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Adjunct Instructor will teach the approved Character Development curriculum in an online environment with synchronous office hours and/or instruction as needed. Instructor should evaluate student progress weekly as well as give timely and substantive feedback on each assignment submission and discussion post. The instructor will ensure that the course content is available in Canvas with appropriate due dates and provide any additional instruction specific to the needs of individual students as necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a classroom or training environment.
 

Preferred:
  • Experience in creative writing or other presentations of character development
  • Experience working with adult students

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Teach program material as required by the schedule.
  • Recommend updated course content to program head(s) as needed.
  • Facilitate regular and substantive interaction via proactive communication with students.
  • Grade assignments and respond to student communications in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate appropriate communication skills, both formally and informally when interacting with students
