Postdoctoral position

Health Research Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division

Job Description

Description of Duties:

Postdoc positions are available immediately, in Dr. Dean Tang’s laboratory (https://www.roswellpark.org/dean-tang), to study NIH grant-supported projects that are centered on understanding prostate cancer cell heterogeneity/plasticity (Li Q et al., Nat. Commun. 2018; Zhang D et al., Nat. Commun. 2020; Kirk J. et al., Cell Stem Cell 2024) and the mechanisms of action of tumor suppressor LRIG1 (Li Q, et al., Nat. Commun. 10:5494, 2019; Ji Y. et al., Semin. Cancer Biol. 2022). The main ongoing projects include, among others: 1) investigating the tumor-suppressive functions of LRIG1 in novel genetic mouse models; 2) uncovering the novel LRIG1-interacting protein partners in both androgen-dependent and androgen-independent prostate cancers; 3) developing LRIG1-based biomarkers and therapeutics; and 4) elucidating the epigenetic underpinnings of treatment-induced plasticity in prostate cancer cells.

Qualifications:

Potential candidates should have received solid Ph.D training in molecular biology and biochemistry as evidenced by high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Candidates with strong (prostate) cancer biology knowledge and working experience in genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs) are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority considerations.
