Department Summary:
The Diversity and Inclusion office, within Michigan Housing, helps facilitate a living-learning environment that is supportive for all residents and staff; creating a welcoming, accepting, and inclusive environment for people of all social identity groups. As a core value of the institution, we frame our work in restorative practices, focusing on community engagement and creating inclusive environments where we acknowledge harm and work to repair it within the community.
Position Summary:
The Program Manager, Diversity and Inclusion - M Housing, will work with us on the creation of inclusive communities in the residence halls and apartments by specifically leading gender-inclusive work, programming, and housing needs. Cultivating long-term relationships with residents, families, resident support systems, and campus departments to create a successful residential experience. Including, creating a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment from the time specific student populations submit a housing application through their entire first year. This will include providing support and educational components for residents within these populations that experience residential climate concerns.
