HR Staff Associate
Job Description
- Working closely with HR Liaisons and University Human Resources (UHR) to assist with the talent acquisition process
- Supporting HR Liaisons with preliminary review of all employment transactions
- Providing explanations when escalating postings to the Associate Director and Sr. Staff Associate and serving as the HR Liaison between the Newark campus and UHR-Newark
- Creating and analyzing reports, converting data into information to assist with decision-making
- Maintaining relevant spreadsheets and updating departmental databases regularly
- Ensuring alignment of recruitment process with compliance to internal policies, negotiated contractual agreements, and legal requirements
- Collaborating with RU-N IT to problem-solve technical inquiries as required by operating system changes or enhancements
- Supporting HR-Newark team with preparation, administration, and implementation of projects, events, etc. as required
- Managing, scheduling, maintaining the office calendar, and responding to office emails timely
- Addressing client inquires, acting as a liaison for professional staff, and cooperating with employees throughout the university
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, and/or Communications or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, report writing, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Requires a minimum of 2 year’s of relevant experience
- Requires excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Requires meticulous attention to accuracy and details
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Internal systems such as Microsoft Office, ROCS, HCM Cloud, and etc.
- Occasional lifting of 20-30 pounds.
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
