The Director of Marketing & Operations drives increased annual giving from Notre Dame alumni, parents, and friends. Working closely with other senior leaders within Annual Giving, the Director will lead the execution of all Annual Giving campaigns and communications, with a focus on hiring, training, and leading a top-tier marketing team, organizing campaign execution processes and procedures, overseeing the optimization and integration of technologies, acting as a key influence over branding and messaging, and building strategic relationships across campus to drive collaboration and innovation.
In this role, you will join a gritty, fun, and collaborative team that embraces thinking differently. You will strive every day to advance the mission of Notre Dame by raising critical funds that empower Notre Dame students to be forces for good in the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of a leading team of writers, email coders, data analysts, social media and SMS experts, and a project manager
- Establish clear strategies, develop action plans, and set goals and priorities to deploy fresh outreach methods and tactics using new and existing communication, marketing, and reporting technologies
- Recommend and implement creative and emerging technologies to help reach aggressive annual fundraising goals
- Serve as the team’s point person on IT matters, particularly reporting, analysis, marketing automation tools, website content, and online giving forms.
- Manage vendor relations, contracts, and a technology budget for the Annual Giving team
- Establish a comprehensive communications plan that involves multiple key stakeholders to develop and deliver the organizational capabilities (process, people, data, etc.) required to achieve shared goals of the Annual Giving team
- Drive efficient, effective processes across all fundraising channels

Work environment:
This role is eligible for hybrid work base in South Bend, IN. It is typically 40 hours/week but will require additional hours during home Notre Dame Football games and during our annual Day of Giving, Notre Dame Day. Travel is expected 1-2 times per year.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in marketing, communications, business, or another related field
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience creating marketing or sales campaigns using best practices to hit targeted goals
- Evidence of initiative and accountability in professional roles
- Ability to manage multiple projects in different stages simultaneously
- Excellent project management, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate, influence, and command the respect and confidence of colleagues.
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills. Faces problems head-on and takes an analytical approach to timely resolution.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- A commitment to Catholic education and the mission and values of the University of Notre Dame
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
