The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department is one of the top 10 suppliers of ECE talent at the BS level in the US, and ranks in the top ECE Departments in total annual research expenditures (ASEE). The department is located in state-of-the-art facilities on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Its undergraduate EE and CpE degree programs have been ranked in the Top 20 and Top 30, respectively, by US news and World Report.

Essential Job Duties
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2025 as part of NC State’s strategic engineering expansion.
The department is seeking excellent candidates in the following areas:
- Controls and robotics
- Semiconductors for electronics, in particular for RF/microwave/mmWave and power devices
- Power electronics
- AI/ML with a solid foundation in ECE and/or computer science
Outstanding candidates outside these areas may also be considered based on the candidates’ qualifications and the strengths of the department.
Other Responsibilities
- Candidates will contribute to undergraduate and graduate student education, likely teaching classes in areas as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical or computer engineering or a related discipline at the time of appointment.
- Candidates must have demonstrated the potential to build a strong research program and an excellent teaching record.
Other Required Qualifications
- Candidate must have a strong commitment to academic and research excellence, and an outstanding research record commensurate with the expectations of a major research university.
