Job Summary
NOTE: This position will be a two (2) year term-limited appointment.
The Cone laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute is looking for a research technician to join our dynamic neuroscience laboratory. Our research centers on the networking of paraventricular hypothalamic (PVH) neurons and the melanocortin system, highlighting their essential role in regulating energy homeostasis. Activation of MC4R in PVH neurons induces satiety and boosts energy expenditure, while inhibition or dysregulation of these receptors results in hyperphagia and weight gain. We explore the complex connections between the PVH and other brain regions to better understand these regulatory mechanisms.
You will have experience handling mice, performing genotyping, and conducting immunohistochemistry. You will report directly to a senior faculty member in the Cone Lab and perform your research on-site. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about contributing to cutting-edge research in a collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and technologies.
