Research Assistant

Job Description

Intensive research and scholarly work on gyn research projects. The Johns Hopkins Radiation Oncology Department has an opening for a Research Assistant.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preclinical research and development under the review of a principial investigator for the technology development and implementation for the preclinical cancer research.
  • Prepare biological in vitro and in vivo samples for irradiation, imaging, and histopathological assessment.
  • Coordinate with technical and administrative resources in the experimental cores and other collaborative labs for the conduction of the research projects.
  • Assist with the writing and editing of manuscripts.
  • Present research projects at meetings and conferences.
  • Perform data collection and/or statistical analysis for various research projects.
  • Assist with tasks on other research projects as required.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Some related experience.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants who have MS or PhD with two-year experience in preclinical research will be preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 Targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Casual / On Call 
Schedule: M-F, as needed 
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt 
Location: School of Medicine Campus
