DESCRIPTION

Front Desk Patient Access Coordinator will provide superb customer service while ensuring accurate demographic, forms, insurance information is entered into the system. Will collect co-pays, keep patients aware of any delays, and check patients out after their appointment. This person will also coordinate authorizations, scheduling, and Epic in-basket messages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years related experience in a large, complex healthcare setting.

  • Experience with registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.

  • Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.

  • Must have excellent customer service to provide a superb patient experience.

  • Demonstrated Epic in-basket management experience.

  • Demonstrated patient scheduling experience.

  • Demonstrated insurance verification experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical billing concepts.

  • Ability to articulate physician's areas of expertise.

  • Understands functions of the referral and authorization department.

  • Able to flex work hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays if required for business needs.

  • Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.

  • Must have strong organizational skills with demonstrated, independent ability to set priorities, handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to communicate ideas and issues clearly, concisely and accurately.

  • Ability to deal effectively with high-level administrators and department heads.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problems solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience applying good judgment and discretion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years of recent admissions/registration experience in a large, complex healthcare setting.
  • Epic scheduling, Front Desk In-basket management, and electronic medical records experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
