Credit-Free Healthcare instructor (EKG, Phlebotomy, Medical Billing and Coding, and Medical Assistant)
This is a part-time instructor role for credit-free healthcare programs. As an instructor, this position will be expected to provide training through a variety of modalities, including online and in-person. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare training and working with employers in the field. This role is expected to create and provide a syllabus for students, adhere to the curriculum for the class, assess student learning, and maintain a positive learning environment.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Workforce Innovation and Instructional Coordination.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction to adult credit-free Patient Care Technician students utilizing an approved training curriculum and materials
- Deliver lectures using up-to-date hands-on techniques
- Knowledge of best practices in the field
- Plan, prepare, and deliver approved curriculum
- Plan and organize instructional materials/supply inventories/tools/equipment (notify lack of supplies in a timely manner)
- Prepare lesson plans
- Provide and maintain a clean environment after each class
- Track and report student grades and attendance
- Lead, inspire, motivate, and advise students to actively participate in all aspects of their educational process
- Provide regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, and poor attendance
- Participate in professional development trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree required
- National Health Association (NHA) Certification
- Have a proven track record in assisting students successfully pass the NHA exam
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the field and teaching EKG, Phlebotomy, Medical Billing and Coding and or Medical Assistant
- Must be able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with a diverse staff and student population
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Consistently demonstrate the highest levels of integrity
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively with and support students from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain a strong presence and have excellent skills in teaching
- A flexible schedule, mornings, evenings, and or weekends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e Word, Excel, Teams, etc)
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success
Salary Range: $40-$55 per hour depending upon degree attainment
Time Commitment: The part-time contract is estimated for 29 hours a week maximum
