Job Description

The Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching Alternative Certification for Effective Teachers (ACET).  We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Teach Pre-K-12 Education classes focused on early Pre-K-12 education settings. 
•    Engage with students in face-to-face and in a technology-rich environment.  
•    Adhere to the college curriculum and course outcomes.  
•    Provide targeted coaching and advising (on/off site). 
•    Manage classroom attendance and record grades in a timely manner.  
•    Use Blackboard for some course management, materials, and communication.  
•    Ability to teach face-to-face on campus and/or virtually in a structured remote teaching setting for

evening or Saturday classes. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education.
  • Teach Pre-K-12 Education classes focused on early Pre-K-12 education settings. 
  • Engage with students in face-to-face and in a technology-rich environment.  
  • Adhere to the college curriculum and course outcomes.  
  • Provide targeted coaching and advising (on/off site). 
  • Manage classroom attendance and record grades in a timely manner.  
  • Use Blackboard for some course management, materials, and communication.  

Preferred Qualifications:


•    Masters and teacher certification preferred

As a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire:

  • Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

  • For international degrees, you must provide US degree equivalency verified by a nationally recognized credential evaluation service.
