Job Description
LCS Logistician TechnicianPosition Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is seeking an entry level Junior Logistician to join our team. The individual will receive, stock, inventory, and kit parts and materials in support of maintenance onboard US Navy LCS class ships based in San Diego, CA.
Clearance Required:
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DBIDS or CAC
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assembly of parts for on-time delivery in support of planned maintenance availabilities.
- Utilize the Planned Maintenance System to identify required logistics in the assembly of parts kitting.
- Maintain inventory and control of parts and check in/out of tools at parts trailer during planned maintenance availabilities.
- Assist in the movement of inventory to and from the warehouse in support of planned maintenance availabilities.
- Executes direction in the maintenance, cleaning and organization of the storage area.
- Assists in the inventory and execution monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data.
- Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with logistics, requisitions, receipt, and inventory management
- Able to tow and maneuver (including backing up) a trailer.
- Recommended: Certified to operate a forklift.
Physical Demands & Expectations
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Regular physical activity to include (but are not limited to): kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, and frequent periods of prolonged standing may be required.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
- Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance.
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
