The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Manager, HR Communications.
SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager, HR Communications reports to the Director of HR Communications and works closely with the HR Leadership Team to align strategic objectives that enhance the workplace environment. The incumbent helps develop strategies and messaging and is responsible for maintaining and overseeing all HR internal communications platforms, including websites, emails and social media to ensure that branded and targeted communications emphasize that the University values staff contributions. The Sr. Manager, HR Communications helps shape communications for Benefits and Total Reward programs and University policies that extend to all members of the workforce.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Works with the HR Leadership Team, translates strategic goals into the development and execution of communication plans and priorities for internal audiences to increase a sense of pride and value among the staff population.

Ensures activities, communications and materials align with the University brand and values.

Provides support to VP of HR in the development of presentation material and messages for events and speaking engagements.

Participates with VP of HR in staff round table sessions, focus groups and other listening tours to gather input, aggregate themes and integrate into HR strategic and action planning, ensuring a constant loop of feedback to employees.

Works collaboratively and closely with University Communications and UHealth Communications to ensure full alignment of internal and external messaging.

Identifies and pursues transformative approaches to internal communications in support of the University’s mission, and ensures internal communications promote employee engagement and inclusion.

Provides communications support to all areas of Human Resources in the development and execution of communications related to projects and initiatives.

Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office)

Designs and develops employee communication programs and materials to facilitate employee awareness, drive desired changes and advance strategic priorities.

Builds productive, trusting relationships with leadership, and provides thoughtful, strategic communications support to colleagues.

Pursues bi-directional communication strategies that engage the workforce.

Prepares reports to document the effectiveness of plans/tactics and shares results with key leadership.

Makes recommendations on future activities based on evaluation criteria, budget, and organizational goals. Other duties as assigned by Marketing, Communications and Physician Relations leadership.
