Job Description
*Description*Group Scrum Master - this is a high level Release Train Engineer who's also passionate about getting hands-on with the teams and driving results at the team level.
LOCATION: this is a remote position, but having candidate near San Diego is highly preferable
Duration: 24 months minimum (long term, likely extension) - possible direct hire to TGS
OVERVIEW
*TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) is providing Agile Services to our client. We are providing both Agile strategy and well as resources (Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches)
*There are approximately 8 different departments and approximately 400 software applications. Each department and each software (Scrum) team is at a different maturity level when it comes to Agile transformation.
*The specific group that needs a Group Scrum Master (GSM) is called User Services
JOB DUTIES
Sr. AGILE COACH RESPONSIBILITIES
*Drive agile adoption (SAF) across the organization through coaching, facilitation, teaching, mentoring. Drive organizational agility for the enterprise through lean portfolio management and value streams, using strong agile delivery knowledge, and using strong knowledge of ADO (which is their tool for lifecycle and backlog management).
*Under the guidance of the S&O Manager, proactively anticipates scaling impediments, opportunities for improvement, and facilitates events up to the value stream and enterprise level. Collaborates with S&O Manager (and other organizational leaders) to execute strategies for agile adoption, monitor the adoption and evaluate quality of value stream epics, objectives and key results.
*Coaching for executives (Directors) and business partners such as Group Product Managers (GPM's) and Product Owners (PO). Will provide one-on-one mentorship and coaching to these partners.
*Provide the highest level of coaching and education to address complex value stream and enterprise impediments and collaborating across the organization to ensure that delivery impediments are addressed and resolved appropriately. Responsible for coaching and education of value streams and leadership on utilizing agile principles and values.
*Helps value streams and leadership identify areas of improvement and facilitates interactive and action oriented discussions to drive continuous improvements leverages custom SAF to improve maturity across the enterprise.
*Responsible for the creation, refinement, and execution of the transformation road map and backlog.
*Participate in executive level reporting on transformation activities and agile maturity of teams , departments, and the enterprise. helps to establish standard reporting and dashboards of metrics
GSM RESPONSIBILITIES
*Group level strategy, planning, dependency tracking, etc. in this Value Stream (department). Improve visibility across the entirety of work (all Scrum teams) as well as reduce duplication of efforts across the value stream.
*The GSM is primarily responsible for maintaining the agile process and overall health of one or more groups of product teams. Ensures that the group of teams is fully functional and productive by facilitating group-level discussions, and removing any organizational obstacles that may be impeding progress.
*Proactively anticipates problems, opportunities for improvement, and facilitates group level events, enabling teams to focus on delivering sprint commitments. Supports all Scrum Masters in the product group and is responsible for release orchestration. Acts as an Agile Coach across teams and group leadership, and responsible for the group's continuous improvement.
*Build reports out of ADO for metrics reporting
Job Duties (at the different levels)

oLeads coaching and education for all teams within product group on agile principles and practices aligned with company expectations.
oSupports Scrum Masters in removing team-level impediments.
oIdentifies improvement areas and drives interactive discussions for continuous improvement.
oAssesses group's agile maturity, coaching teams to higher levels of proficiency.
oUtilizes the Agility Framework to enhance maturity across teams with the group.
oFosters a supportive environment to encourage team escalation and open discussions, promoting trust and collaboration.
oFacilitates problem-solving between teams and groups
*Group Level Service
oCollaborates with Group Product Manager/Owner to refine backlogs, roadmaps and OKRs.
oOrchestrates complex releases ensuring seamless coordination.
oPrioritizes predictability, time-to-market, and relevant group-level dashboard metrics for effective decision-making and continuous improvement
oFacilitates Quarterly Planning, Group Review, Group Planning, Group Demo events for seamless cross-team delivery.
oProvides coaching, addresses team escalated and group level impediments, and ensures timely delivery resolution.
oGuides group-level discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
oPromotes transparency and information sharing within and between teams and groups, including senior leadership.
oProactively communicates with internal and external stakeholders.
*Value Stream Level Service
oParticipates in Value Stream events such as Value Stream Reviews and Demos to support value delivery at the portfolio level
oParticipates in IT wide agile communities of practice to enhance collaboration.
