Professional Tutor - Biology (PT)
Job Description
The Professional Biology Tutor is responsible for one-on-one and small group instruction with students. They will exhibit patience and a positive attitude in establishing an encouraging learning environment. The Professional Tutor will possess good organizational skills and be able to explain concepts to others effectively.

This is an hourly, part-time position.
1. Qualifications:
A. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required.
B. Experience and Skills: Working knowledge of biology subjects required. Willingness to develop tutoring skills in anatomy and physiology preferred. Experience in the tutoring of science at a high school or college level preferred.
2. General Functions:
The Professional Tutor is responsible for one-on-one and small group instructional support with students. The tutor will help maintain student records, as well as cumulative records on Center usage.
3. Essential Functions:
A. Provide direct instructional assistance to students individually and/or in small groups.
B. Attend staff meetings.
C. Maintain online tutor presence, as needed.
D. Maintain and record student and usage records as needed
E. Report to the Coordinator of the Incubator.
F. Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay scale by degree attainment:
Associates Degree: $21.00/hour
Bachelors Degree: $23.00/hour
Masters or Ph.D: $25.00/hour
