Student Affairs at Santa Fe College upholds a mission to add value to the lives of SF students and enrich the community by providing research-based and learner-centered services that support access and student engagement from matriculation to goal attainment.The College Knowledge Specialist serves as an inclusive, student-centered position that empowers pre-collegiate students to achieve their highest potential. The Specialist is responsible for facilitating the College Knowledge program to provide college coaching, readiness training, and career exploration to out-of-school and after-school programs in Alachua County. The Specialist will develop program-specific curriculum, materials, and activities for elementary, middle, and high school aged students to prepare them for the college experience.
*This position is funded by either a grant or another donor-funded source external to the college. Should the funding provided by these special sources be reduced or eliminated, employees will be given as much notice as possible. This position is being filled in an interim capacity for the current fiscal year and is eligible for reappointment provided continued funding and incumbent success. For all the information regarding interim appointments and the terms that govern them, please refer to College Rule 3.9 and 3.9P.
Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Provides prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service to individuals interested in learning about the College Knowledge program, responding to questions, concerns, and inquiries while making appropriate referrals when necessary.
Coordinates and conducts visits and activities with students at various out-of-school and after-school providers in Alachua County.
Develops and implements curriculum and materials to utilize during sessions with students, staff, and SF students that incorporates college coaching, readiness training, and career exploration.
Tracks and assesses student involvement and progress in the program, reporting data back to the Director and the Children’s Trust of Alachua County grant.
Collaborates with SF Achieve Specialists, Admissions Specialists, and other recruitment staff to ensure a seamless experience for students who participate in other collegewide programs, such as Educational Talent Search, College for Kids, and more.
Participates in community outreach initiatives as a representative of the college and the College Knowledge program and provides information to students and their families who attend these events and pre-scheduled sessions.
Liaises with community partners and the public to promote the College Knowledge program and enhance student participation.
Collaborates with the Director, peers, and the Marketing and Communications department to create and maintain the website as well as develop promotional materials, such as print and digital fliers.
Utilizes social media and digital communications to promote the College Knowledge program to local students and families.
Monitors the grant-funded program budget to ensure funds are spent as stipulated and according to College Rules and policies.
Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: An associate degree in a related field with two (2) years of work experience and/or a combination of completed education equal to four (4) years
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Applicants must have a valid Florida Class E Operator (driver’s) license and be authorized to drive for the college. Must be able to list 20 pounds without assistance.
Preferred: A bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of prior experience working in higher education and working with digital database and/or constituent relationship management (CRM) platforms. Multiple-language proficiencies.
