Municipal Wastewater Treatment Engineer
Job Description
Kennedy Jenks is seeking a collaborative Municipal Wastewater Treatment Engineer, serving as a subject matter expert for municipal wastewater treatment projects across the organization. This position will apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis for solution development, effectively communicate with all stakeholders and levels, and will manage and provide technical leadership on wastewater treatment projects. Key Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for projects focused on detailed design and project management of small to large civil infrastructure projects including, but not limited to, wastewater treatment studies and plant upgrades.
- Design and optimization of wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical and biological treatment systems.
- Lead process design in feasibility studies and facility plans.
- Lead the development of calculations, drawings, and specifications for complex wastewater treatment upgrades.
- Support client service managers and business development efforts, serving as a technical subject matter expert at in-person and virtual meetings and project interviews. Participate in project pursuits and interviews, including developing treatment process innovations, technical approach, and scope items.
- Develop scope and budget for new project opportunities.
- Guide and mentor other staff interested in wastewater treatment project work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in wastewater treatment engineering
- Practical professional engineer (PE) license required. License in one or multiple states (CA, CO, FL, HI, OR, TX, VA, WA) preferred
- Municipal wastewater treatment experience with strong technical knowledge. Experience should include preparing calculations, design reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Design-Build experience a plus but not required
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $110,000 to $200,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
