Job Description Summary

Love working with products and people? LLCC Bookstore is hiring a General Merchandise Technician! Join our team to help keep our bookstore stocked, organized, and ready to serve our campus community.

This position will function as main buyer for general merchandise sold through the LLCC Bookstore to service the needs of students, faculty, staff, visitors, and alumni. They will also collaborate with Director, Campus Services on marketing and promotions to address customer education and retention.

As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 10 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on-campus fitness center. Starting salary is likely to be between $37,703 and $43,012 per year with an excellent benefits package. The person hired into this position will be placed within this range based on education, training, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years retail and customer service experience, including sales, ordering, receiving, stocking and cashiering.
  • Computer aptitude with the ability to use excel spreadsheet and word-processing software.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary coursework.
  • POS/inventory system training.

Physical Requirements

Moderate lifting.

Position Salary

Starting salary is likely to be between $37,703 and $43,012 per year with an excellent benefits package.
