E2 is looking for an Electric Power Distribution Designer to join our team in Southern California (remote work is also available) to support several major electric utility clients. The successful candidate will design and prepare construction orders related to underground and overhead facilities associated with electric power distribution systems applying engineering principles, prescribed standards, guides, specifications, and practical design solutions. The position will work under the direction of the Team Lead and will report directly to the Department Manager.
- Works with engineering and design team to produce and/or review overhead and underground distribution design packages, including construction drawings, materials inventory (install and removals), voltage drop calculations, environmental/FAA/permitting releases, easements, fielding photos, and notes, distribution planning coordination requests, and GIS maps.
- Apply the Clients' standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, and procedures or appropriate industry standards in preparing layouts of underground electric distribution facilities.
- Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports and project calculations and ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information.
- Reviews design documents and drawings for accuracy and completeness, addressing any discrepancies or issues identified during the review process.
- Ensures and maintains compliance with applicable company and client standards and procedures.
- Provides technical support to junior designers.
- Participates in special projects or tasks as required.
Required
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or similar degree.
- 0-3 years of electric distribution design experience - Associate Designer.
- 4-7 years of electric distribution design experience -Designer.
- 8-12 years of electric distribution design experience - Senior Designer.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong experience using AutoCAD and/or GIS systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Minimum three (3) years' experience with distribution design and construction standards for SDG&E.

Salary range for this position is $72,800 - $104,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill level, education, experience, and working environment.
