Job Summary

To perform activities relating to or supporting the preparation, compounding, packaging, storing, recording, processing, dispensing, labeling and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies in the B2 Central Pharmacy.The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor may also be requested to collect and or/record metric, quality and/or surveillance data under the supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor may also be requested to collect and or/record metric, quality and/or surveillance data under the supervision of a pharmacist.

As Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, it is also expected to be able to perform all of the essential characteristic duties and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician Senior. 

Additionally, the pharmacy technician supervisor will be responsible for:

Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Functional supervision is received from a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager/Assistant Director, or Pharmacy Manager/Assistant Director designee. Administrative supervision is received from a Pharmacy Manager/Assistant Director, or other designated official.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Administrative supervision will be exercised over Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy trainees, and/or learners.

Work Schedule

The schedule for this position is flexible and may include both evening and day shifts, weekends, and holidays. The primary shift will be evening shift.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
