Climate Editorial Coordinator

Job Description

CLIMATE EDITORIAL COORDINATOR, MIT Climate, to collaborate closely with the Managing Editor and program team in executing the mission of the MIT Office of the Vice President for Climate’s Program on Climate Change Engagement, which supplies the public and key audiences with timely, accurate climate information through a variety of communications tools, including the MIT Climate Portal, MIT Climate Primer, TILclimate podcast, MIT Environmental Solutions Journalism Fellowship, and affiliated social media channels and newsletters.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of communications or journalism experience; professional knowledge of an array of climate change topics; exceptional writing, communication, organizational and project coordination skills; experience editing the work of others or serving in a communications role in a professional setting; experience with website content production and editing, social media platforms, and email marketing software; ability to form productive working relationships with various stakeholders including students, faculty, contractors, partners and sponsors; exceptional personal integrity, work ethic, mission-focus, and a self-growth orientation; and ability to work well independently and with a team, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, and concurrently manage many responsibilities. PREFERRED: journalism, podcast, radio, other audio, or television experience; experience managing a budget and content production schedule; and experience with MIT systems. Job #24519-7

Position is hybrid, 1-2 days on-site in Cambridge, MA, with the possibility of being fully remote.
