Utilizing the nursing process in the planning and delivery of care, the Registered Nurse complies with all regulations and standard of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and maintains a safe level of knowledge and skills with technical procedures.
The Breast Clinic Nurse will assist with chemotherapy patient teaching and coordination of services related to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment planning according to UCSD policies and procedures. This position is. responsible for: completing regular biopsychosocial assessments and care plans with patients; communicating and collaborating with multidisciplinary disease teams to ensure coordination of care for patients; providing education to patients/families regarding treatment plans, medications, advance directives, appointments and so forth; developing collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary team members and referring patients/families to other members of the care team as appropriate; documentation in accordance with program standards; participating in the evaluation of program outcomes.
This position will assist with chemotherapy, patient education, and coordination of services related to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment planning according to UCSD policies and procedures.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
A minimum of two (2) years of oncology experience within the past year.
Current or previous experience must include chemotherapy administration (with a chemotherapy provider card) or chemotherapy teaching within the last three years.
Care coordination experience, excellent communication skills, and customer service skills, with the ability to triage symptoms and educate patients.
Demonstrates exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
Must possess proficient computer skills, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
Strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities to assess moderately complex problems and develop potential solutions quickly.
BSN/MSN.
OCN or CBCN certification
ACLS and/or ART.
Breast oncology RN experience.
Knowledge of Epic EMR.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Will travel between the locations of Hillcrest, Moores Cancer Center, Rancho Bernardo, and Koman Outpatient Pavilion.
Selected candidates may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
