Postdoctoral Associate, AgeLab

Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, AGELAB, Center for Transportation & Logistics, to join a multidisciplinary team focused on research that seeks to improve the lives of older adults by avenues of technology, science, and business solutions. Will design, build, and execute research studies drawing on a range of social science methods (including experiments, surveys, interviews and focus groups); lead a research effort around creating measures to capture people’s knowledge and awareness around aging and longer lives; report on results; lead and contribute to the development of joint publications, participating in conferences, and sharing results with laboratory partners and industry sponsors; and collaborate with the research team on defining research priorities and in supporting other ongoing research at the lab.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: Ph.D. (or all completed requirements for a Ph.D. short of thesis defense) in social psychology, organizational psychology, business with a focus on social or organizational psychology, or a closely related field; demonstrated experience and excellence in research via existing publications; excellent communication skills; ability to present to different audiences, work independently and be a team player, handle multiple priorities from multiple sources, and perform accurately under time, pressure, and frequent interruptions; robust organizational skills; experience with coding and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; experience using Microsoft Office Suite; and positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things. PREFERRED: experience or background with research related to people’s choices around savings, different financial products, or planning for longer lives; experience or background with doing research within workplaces as research sites and working with companies around research; and experience using Qualtrics or Google Forms. The person is this role will be expected to be based in the MIT AgeLab in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
