Software Engineering Intern - Undergraduate
United States, San Diego: this position must be performed in a hybrid capacity out of the SIE-PlayStation San Diego, CA office.

About the Team:
The Platform Core Solutions (PCS) Development Team designs and builds standardized capabilities for the PlayStation platform, allowing other teams to focus on their core business functions.
Our services include REST micro-services and Java libraries that handle data abstraction, event publishing, batch processing, and more. We tackle a wide variety of technical challenges in developing software at scale and are constantly adopting the latest tools and techniques to solve complex problems.
What You'll Be Doing:

Gain an understanding of the platform unification initiatives driven by our team.

Participate in the software development life cycle, including development, testing, and code reviews.

Use agile development methodologies to provide time/resource estimates.

Develop services using AWS managed services.

Learn and apply best practices for developing secure, scalable software.

Gain familiarity with operational tools used for monitoring services.
What We're Looking For:

Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with an expected graduation by Spring 2026.

Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership over your work.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Eager to explore new technologies and programming languages.

Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes.

Comfortable with ambiguity and eager to bring structure and clarity to complex systems.

A positive, can-do attitude.
Eligibility:
-
Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.

Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.

Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
