Student Financial Services Counselor (Part - Time)

28 hours/week depending on school needs

  • Quarterly tuition billing and daily payment posting to student accounts
  • Manage online payments and post payments in a timely manner
  • Keeps appropriate financial reports for financial aid transactions
  • Adhoc and monthly statement management
  • Works with third party servicer to manage student awards, returns and concerns
  • Meet with students regarding financial balances and creates payment plans, when necessary
  • Keep campus management abreast of any student finance issues
  • Provides student refunds to corporate office for processing in a timely manner
  • Distributes student refunds and obtains appropriate documentation on behalf of the school
  • Available daily during student hours for in-person or phone meetings
  • Monitors and responds to student account emails and financial aid phone messages in conjunction with third party servicer
  • Maintains students’ records in NetSuite, Populi and Regent
  • Periodic reporting to corporate office, assists with annual audit
  • FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID AND BASIC ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years experience in a financial aid department of a post-secondary school, preferably allied health
Basic accounting experience applying payments and processing quarterly and periodic billing to accounts
Intermediate Excel experience
Student relations experience regarding financial matters
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for education and healthcare.
