Research Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a Research Technologist to be responsible for an ongoing project investigating cardiovascular disease. The technologist will work under the direct supervision of the faculty investigator.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform experiments and general laboratory organization and upkeep in a working cardiology laboratory.
  • Perform laboratory experiments by following common protocols or with instruction.
  • Identify and resolve common problems involved in routine research assays.
  • Manage experiments from sample and reagent preparation to experimental testing and data collection.
  • Analyze data in terms of quality control and experimental diagnostics in preparation for statistical analysis.
  • Ensure careful record keeping of sample information and results to guarantee quality of experimentation.
  • Accountable for operational laboratory management, including tracking supply inventories and ensuring availability of laboratory reagents and material.
  • Carry out routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Ensure laboratory efficiency by following set protocols for lab cleanliness, organization and safety regulations.
  • Process analyzed data into figures for scientific publications.
  • May scientifically contribute to writing of manuscripts and grants.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with molecular biology.
  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience.

 


 

Classified Title: Research Technologist 
Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/02/CC  
Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($43,680 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Full Time 
Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM 
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
