About Us: 

KYARR (Kentucky Alliance for Recovery Residences) is a proud and upcoming affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), dedicated to promoting quality standards for recovery residences, fostering support networks, and advocating for people in recovery. KYARR’s mission is to support individuals in achieving sustainable recovery through safe, stable, and supportive housing through the certification of recovery residences.

 

Job Summary: 

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and ground-up organizational development for the new Kentucky NARR affiliate (KYARR). This individual will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our certification programs, managing staff, securing funding, and building relationships with community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for recovery support services and a strong background in nonprofit management.

This job position will consist of 70% in-person and 30% remote work. This will be a remote job until office space is secured. Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Kentucky. The Executive Director will have travel expectations throughout the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The Executive Director will be a W2 employee with the Virginia Association of Recovery Residences (VARR).

Background check required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, promoting our mission and programs.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
  • Ensure compliance with NARR standards and best practices.
  • Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to enhance service delivery.

Fundraising and Financial Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and event planning.
  • Manage the organization's budget, ensuring financial stability and sustainability.
  • Report regularly to the board of directors on financial status and program outcomes.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and recovery residence operators.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that support recovery residences and the broader recovery community.
  • Represent the organization at local, state, and national meetings and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Valid license and transportation
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or related organization.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of recovery support services and NARR standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Passion for the mission of supporting individuals in recovery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 - 5 years experience working at a NARR affiliate
  • Lived experience of residing in a recovery residence
  • Live experience of operating a recovery residence

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
