This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite in La Jolla and remote.

Professional who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments / projects / tasks of moderate scope and complexity; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.

Applies user experience design concepts, methods and techniques, relevant policies and procedures to resolve a variety of user experience design issues. Works on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Projects typically are small in scope, limited to a small website or department or are components of larger projects.

• Six years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.

• Understanding of the user-centered design process (user research, user needs assessment, user modeling, design, usability evaluation and developer relations).

• Understanding of design principles, guidelines and relevant policies including web accessibility standards.

• Skills in diagramming, prototyping and using design tools.

• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

• Effective time management skills.

• Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.

• Basic web and / or software development skills.
