The Parent-Child Interaction Therapist will support the activities of the Psychoeducational Clinic, associated with the School Psychology program in the Department of Psychology. Responsibilities will include conducting therapy sessions with parents and their children to discuss learning, social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

Minimum Experience/Education

Master’s degree required in psychology, counseling, social work or closely-related field. Appropriate licensure must be obtained/maintained according to NC laws.

Department Required Skills

• Strong experience in providing therapy services to children and adolescents
• Specialized experience delivering evidence-based interventions to children, adolescents, and families
• Specialized expertise in neurodevelopmental disabilities
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA guidelines and professional ethics codes
• Training and certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Training and/or certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) strongly preferred

Required License or Certification

Appropriate licensure must be obtained/maintained according to NC laws.
