What You'll Do

The Center for Academic Innovation at the University of Michigan is looking for a qualified Operations Coordinator Senior (OCS) to oversee the maintenance of our center's office space and daily operations related to facilities matters as well as other human resources and general operations related projects. You will manage a variety of office services to ensure necessary organizational operational needs are met such as gathering quotes from suppliers and vendors, overseeing supplies and services purchasing related to building maintenance, office equipment, and furniture/supplies and other applicable services as assigned. Also, the Operations Coordinator Senior will be asked to support a variety of special projects related to space optimization, talent management, team communication, and administrative tasks related to center processes. The Operations Coordinator Senior will report to the Associate Director of Talent Management and Organizational Development (AD TMOD) and work with the CAI Operations Coordinator (OC) on the coordination of daily operational activities.

About the Operations Team 

The Operations team ensures that the Center for Academic Innovation is supported in matters related to operational responsibilities of the Center, including talent management and organizational development, financial management, operational data analytics, implementation of center-wide software and technology solutions, and space optimization and use. We also provide expertise around the design and implementation of center-wide organizational processes and along with policy matters related to compliance topics like copyright, accessibility, and Department of Education rules and regulations, and data privacy. We support student engagement through designing co-curricular fellowship opportunities and experiential learning opportunities. We serve as an important liaison for the Center to other University units such as the Office of General Counsel, Information and Technology Services, and the Procurement Office.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

The general salary range for this position is $65,000- $70,000. You can expect to be paid a great compensation package. Factors used to determine salary include education level and experience for the position and internal equity within the unit. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor agreement and transparency throughout the recruiting process. 

Please Note: This is a 5 year term limited position with the possibility of renewal depending on funding. 

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. 

The mode of work for this position is Hybrid. The work requirements for this position allow both onsite and offsite work and you will have an expected regular and recurring onsite presence. You will be in person 4 days per week with the possibility of 5 days per week on occasion.
