What You'll Do
The Social Media and Communications Intern works closely with University of Michigan-Dearborn's Communications team, providing support for social media content creation, photography, videography and other communications duties. Primarily, the intern will shoot and edit Reels and other short videos for UM-Dearborn social media (TikTok and IG), with a focus on telling interesting student stories. Other duties may include:
Why Work at Michigan?
This internship will provide real-world experience learning how to create content, develop a strategy and track metrics across a large social media following, encompassing over 100K followers on 5 platforms. Interns will develop a better understanding of social media management and an updated portfolio of social media projects, as well as experience with various other tasks involved in creating and maintaining engaging, results-driven digital communications. Creating short-form video for TikTok and Instagram will be the primary focus of this internship.

Additional Information
This internship requires a commitment of at least the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 semesters, but it can be extended into additional semesters upon mutual agreement of the intern and supervisor.
This is a paid internship and is not eligible for course credit.
