HR Manager
Job Description
Responsible for providing Human Resources leadership and hands-on support to our distribution facility in Poplar Bluff, MO. The HR Manager will support the full range of HR and Safety activities while demonstrating leadership, trust, collaboration, and positive change management in support of a high-performance, people-first culture.
Position Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Provide HR leadership and guidance to the site, particularly in regard to a full range of HR activities: employee relations, performance management, engagement, training and development, and compensation.
- Drive the execution of HR strategies in line with business objectives.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations for employee relations issues, complaints, and conflicts in the workplace.
- Oversee administration of discipline and terminations to ensure consistency.
- Drive high-level of employee engagement surveys and action planning, productivity, and efficiency.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve communication, work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provide day-to-day performance guidance to management (coaching, counseling, compensation, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.).
- Lead in the implementation, guidance, and interpretation of HR policies and processes. May develop HR procedures and policies in line with corporate strategies.
- Identify and propose solutions for training, development, and coaching needs.
- Oversee and assist with the full-cycle recruitment process.
- Onboard new employees and conduct new hire orientation.
- Assists with LOA management, workplace accommodations, and returns-to-work.
- Manage employee inquiries.
- Oversee employee records and files.
Safety
- Encourage the human performance thought process to uncover and improve hidden organizational or process issues that influence how employees perceive risk.
- Execute company-wide health, safety, and environmental plans in the workplace according to best practices and OSHA regulations.
- Develop goals and objectives to support continuous improvement in Safety, Environmental, and Occupational Health.
- Conduct safety audits, GEMBA walks, and environmental audits.
- Compile and report appropriate metrics to track the impact of EH&S programs across business.
- Assist in workers’ compensation.
- Cultivate an environment where all employees value and support a strong Safety, Environmental, and Occupational Health culture promoting employee well-being and creating an interdependent safety culture and Accept Only Zero philosophy.
Position Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- 6-8 years of professional Human Resources experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment; 1-3 years of EH&S experience.
- Competency in relevant employment law and OSHA regulations with ability to coach and train managers.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, presentation, and listening skills.
- Process and results-oriented with strong analytical ability.
- Proven track record in coaching, influencing, developing leaders and colleagues, and upholding a high-level of integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment using effective analytical and problem-solving skills and a team focus.
- Ability to handle conflict, articulate own and others’ goals, and stay focused on a positive outcome.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP
- Professional certifications in EH&S
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
