Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Department of English at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in Asian American and Pacific Islander literature and culture to begin in August 2025. Appropriate secondary fields may include critical race theory; Indigenous and Pacific studies; Global Asian studies, women’s, gender and sexuality studies; queer theory and performance and media studies. The successful candidate must have a PhD in English or a related field by July 1, 2025. Successful candidates will be expected to publish actively; teach two courses per semester; direct dissertations, comprehensive exams, capstone projects, and honors theses; and offer service to the Department, the College, and the University.
