Job Summary and Responsibilities: The Accounting Area in the School of Management at the University of San Francisco seeks applicants for a 1-year visiting term faculty position in the field of financial and managerial accounting starting Spring 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3 courses per semester (24 units for the academic year) and contribute to a collaborative presence in the USF community.
Teaching responsibilities will include required core courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as possible electives in the candidate's area of expertise.
Some examples of core courses include Financial Accounting (Undergraduate and MBA), Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting. Individuals should feel comfortable teaching with technology, though much of the teaching will be in-person and on-campus. And possibly online. Practice-oriented and discipline-based theoretical or empirical research is encouraged; however, it is not an explicit responsibility of the position. Candidates at any professor rank, looking for a visiting position for a sabbatical year or other leave opportunity, are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a doctorate (or be ABD) in accounting or related discipline. Previous professional experience (such as teaching or teaching assistantships, corporate training, pedagogical publications, or attendance at conferences) that demonstrates an interest in teaching excellence is expected.

The Accounting Program has an undergraduate major and one graduate program, the Masters of Science in Accountancy. We also teach several core classes in the part-time, full-time, and Executive MBA programs.
