Associate Director of Foundation
Job Description
The Associate Director plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and vision of the GRCC Foundation. The Associate Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and managerial support of the foundation team. This individual collaborates closely with the Executive Director to shape organizational priorities, drive programmatic initiatives, and ensure effective implementation of the foundation’s strategies. The Associate Director assumes the role of department leadership in the absence of the Executive Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and refine organizational goals, strategies, and priorities.
- Lead the design and implementation of strategic initiatives aligned with the foundation’s mission and values.
- Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the philanthropic landscape and recommend strategic responses.
- Supervision and Management:
- Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to GRCC Foundation employees.
- Provide strategic oversight of the following areas within the foundation; alumni, annual giving, database management, events, major giving, scholarships and stewardship.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the GRCC Foundation.
- Fundraising and Development:
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of prospects and donors to develop fundraising capacity.
- Design, develop and manage foundation programs and initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure programs are within budget and meet defined objectives and outcomes.
- Represent the foundation at community events, meetings, and conferences.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and partner organizations.
- Promote the foundation’s mission and programs through effective communication strategies.
- Financial Management:
- Serve as the BCO for both foundation and college advancement budgets.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the foundation’s budget.
- Monitor the foundation budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Board Support:
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, provide support and assistance to the GRCC Foundation Board of Directors.
- Assist in the coordination of board activities and initiatives.
- Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required, and due to the nature of the work, night and weekend work will occasionally be necessary. Being present is essential for serving constituents and performing the essential functions of this position.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- A Bachelor's degree relevant to the requirements of this position is required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in roles related to fundraising.
- Experience in higher education is preferred.
