- Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
- Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.

- Exposure to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals.
- Rapid and effective decision-making during unusual or emergency situations.
- Work in environments and under conditions that may require the use of protective gear and devices, and/or awareness of personal safety.
- Frequent sitting and/or standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Some lifting and moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Travel between UNH campuses as required.

- Must be of good moral character.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. College preferred.
- Extensive background investigation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- No criminal record other than minor motor vehicle violations.
- Must successfully complete psychological, polygraph and physical examinations.
- Computer knowledge; Microsoft Office, Teams, public safety software.

- Perform assigned campus safety/security patrol at appointed times, as scheduled, to assure compliance with federal, state, municipal and USNH campus safety/security regulations.
- Complete daily log showing times of building patrols, key service, walking escorts, criminal & non-criminal incidents reported or discovered and security or safety issues that need to be addressed.
- Complete incident reports for crimes committed on campus and non-crime incidents that relate to campus safety such as: fires, medical emergencies, violations of university policies relating to campus safety or alarm activations.
- Notify the Campus Safety Supervisor or designee of incidents that require a timely warning, may result in heightened community interest, or may expose the University to liability.
- Safeguard campus buildings at designated times, including checking of doors, windows, and other egress points.
- Check halls, stairs, and other areas of occupant passage for obstacles which could prevent effective egress in case of an emergency.
- Report violations, individual violators, vandalism, illegal entry, and trespassers to University Police Dispatch and remain in area to assist, if necessary.
- Report fires and malfunctions of fire detecting/life saving devices to the University Police Dispatch and remain at scene in case of fire to assist fire department.
- Report all items requiring repair action and remain in areas to assist, if necessary.
- Render assistance to the public.
- Receive, document and store found property. Secure crime evidence until it can be processed by University Police.
- May Enforce college/university rules and regulations.
- Protect college/university property.
- Search campus property during bomb threats.
- Render aid at accident scenes or disaster areas.
- May appear in court or hearings as a witness in criminal cases.
- Operate public safety equipment, as required.
- Considerable physical effort required while on duty; duties may demand continuous standing, walking, climbing stairs, conducting physical security checks of doors and windows while performing duties under varying climatic conditions with exposure to accidents or occupational hazards that may result in total disability or loss of life.
- Patrol campus grounds within assigned areas on foot to assure security of university property.
- May direct others in same classification, as required.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
