Job Description
SUPERVISOR, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance, to manage the instrument technician and controls group in providing superior customer service and maintenance. Will provide leadership and ongoing supervision and technical expertise to assigned team members in evaluating building automation systems operation and programming for laboratory and process ventilation systems, including inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing low voltage electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic devices and systems used to indicate, record, and control HVACR equipment and building systems in commercial operations. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years of supervisory experience in a repair and maintenance setting with oversight of a staff of instrument technicians working with complex building operations and automation systems; familiarity with Schneider Electric, Siemens, Automated Logic or Carrier and environmental rooms such as Harris Environmental; demonstrated job planning and execution proficiency; experience working with work order tracking systems and computer software, specifically MS Office; and excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills. Must be able to ability to proactively improve processes; direct the inspection and calibration of DDC systems and devices to detect abnormal function and follow through with recommended repairs; prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports; read ladder diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; and manage work order backlogs and prioritize work. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; knowledge of labor relations and conflict resolution; and Massachusetts’ refrigeration technician license, Massachusetts’ oil burner technician license, and/or universal refrigerant recovery certificate.
