Compensation: $105,000-$125,000 annually

Summary: *St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager preferably with experience in non-profit accounting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position oversees all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting ensuring compliance with GAAP and all applicable rules, laws and regulations. This position reports to the Executive Director and supervises all finance department personnel. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of cash and revenue transactions to the general ledger and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department which includes: monthly/quarterly/year end close process, account reconciliations, balance-sheet schedules, and related journal entries, invoicing/accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement to support strategic planning, program evaluation, and decision-making.
- Manage the general ledger reconciliation process to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Oversee all financial aspects of grants and contracts, including budget development, reporting, and compliance. Work closely with Senior Accountant and development teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting to funders.
- Manage the audit process and assist with pulling documentation to address audit requests, as well as draft financial statements.
- Coordinate and oversee financial audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process and address any audit-related inquiries. Oversee and completion of audit schedules.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and provide analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations, IRS reporting, and state regulatory requirements for nonprofit organizations.
- Oversee and assist in the completion of Form 990.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
- Develop and implement budgeting processes and monitor budget performance
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by governing bodies
- Work in a safe manner and follow all company safety guidelines.

Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and non-profit accounting standards preferred. Experience with the ADP & Blackbaud financial management system is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Education/Experience*
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business degree is required.

Preferred skills and experience*
Master's degree preferred. CPA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years of it in a non-profit organization.

Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, safety information, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the Society.

Math Ability*
Ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Must be able to understand common cash management reports.

Reasoning Ability*
Ability to solve practical problems quickly and in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant and Accounting Coordinator.
