Job Overview

Provide Support to fleet customers, including other engineers, technicians from other government agencies such as the Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) by providing timely information and technical assistance through established processes relative to government's request. Maximize resource capacity and availability to deliver subservices including Distance Support, Onsite Support, and Proactive Support. Document or assist in documenting all issues, resolutions, and requests for information using the established process of the DDG 1000 Help Desk.

Salary range: $70,000 - $98,000/yr.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Assist fleet customers, engineers, technicians, and other personnel via distance support (phone and email) to resolve issues and provide support as requested by the customer. If unable to resolve the issue by distance support, on-site support may be the next step.
  • Plan and execute on-site restorative actions to restore the system to operational condition through equipment configuration, coordination with distant end, or part replacement with available Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) The contractor shall identify and isolate problems; inspect and repair systems and equipment; test and evaluation; perform system checkout; provide informal training; update documentation; and perform in- briefs and out-briefs of accomplishments to the ship's crew and other fleet support customers. The restorative actions may involve troubleshooting interfaces and peripheral systems to resolve SSC-15 Interoperability issues. Interfaces to include but not limited to the modems, Common Array Equipment (CAE), Common Display System (CDS), Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE), Integrated Communications Control (ICC), Advanced Digital Network System (ADNS), and Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Advanced Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor (ATIP).
  • Perform equipment grooms, onboard training and participate in required Fleet events. (Up to Secret)
  • Provide on-site support while The contractor's personnel shall be capable of riding the ship for short periods.
  • Verify, test, and validate new software related to the system in accordance with government approved (Up to Secret)
  • Submit and review Software Trouble Reports (STR) / Hardware Trouble Reports (HTR) for any issues found onboard during site support activities. Documented resolutions for STR and HTR issues will also be recorded against any associated trouble tickets.
  • Provide a situational report of actions taken and results upon conclusion of the on-site support in contractor
  • Support the transition of SSC-15 to the Government.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a Secret clearance or higher
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Top-Secret level security clearance with access to Top Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Security+ certification
  • IAT II Certification required per DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record upon request.
